TOPIC – Our new topic, ‘Making the News’, is giving us the opportunity to look at news reporting and early communication methods. The children are becoming journalists this half term and their first job is to report on our “Who Dunnit?” crime scene in class. The class laptop has been taken! From the clues in the pictures, can you work out who the possible suspects could be?
To support learning in both English and IPC this half term, we are looking at how news stories are covered, reported and published, and we're hoping to gain a little insight into journalism as a career too.
PE – Please note that PE is on MONDAY and WEDNESDAY afternoons. Children must have their kits to be fully engaged in these sessions.
HOMEWORK – Homework continues to be handed out each Friday and is due in by the following Wednesday. Homework will mainly consist of English and Maths, with some topic work as required.
SPELLINGS – Don't forget to practise spellings at home! Each child has been given a copy of the Year 5 and 6 spelling list for ongoing practice.
Piano day is Tuesday for those continuing to learn piano.
Once again, many thanks for your support this year. We look forward to seeing the children produce more great work over the coming months.
