Hello and welcome to Reception!
The children have settled in very well during their first week and have enjoyed exploring their new classrooms, meeting their teachers and making new friends. Here are a few pictures to show you what they’ve been up to!
This half term we are basing our learning on the topic “All about Me”. The children have lots of opportunities to look at their similarities and differences, talk about different feelings and behaviours, learn how to keep themselves healthy and try to answer the big question… What makes us special?
Our daily phonics, maths and literacy sessions have now begun and we are learning all about the characters from the Oxford Reading Tree reading scheme, who appear in the books we are bringing home.
Each week we send home a home-school book with different tasks and a weekly update of what we’ve been learning. The tasks are designed to allow your child to practise what they have learnt in school with adult support.
We will be inviting families to a ‘Stay and Play’ session shortly – please keep your eyes open for a date coming soon!
