What a busy term! On our first day back we had Bikeability Day and we had lots of fun - despite the torrential rain! It involved games carried out on balance bikes (bikes without pedals) to develop handling and awareness. We learnt to identify parts of a balance bike, get on and off comfortably, set off with control, push and glide, stop with control and make the bike go where we wanted it to. We had such a fantastic day! Take a look at some of our pictures.
We also celebrated Pancake Day in style by designing our very own fruity-faced pancakes. Here are some for you to look at.
Our topic this half term is ‘Growing and Changing’ and we are learning all about Spring. In particular, we're looking at how plants grow and what they need to keep them alive. We are also learning about the life cycles of different animals, including chicks, frogs and people!
To support our topic we've been to Stockley Farm, which provides a wonderful hands-on experience for the children. We had the chance to feed the lambs and goats, visit the Polytunnel to look at things growing there, go on a nature trail and take a ride on the tractor to look at seasonal changes in the environment.
Don’t forget that our home-school books can also be used as scrap books to record any special moments, events, trips or discoveries that your child would like to share with us.
Reading books are sent home each week. Please keep reading with your child on a daily basis – it is really beneficial. Also, don’t forget to keep reading the high frequency words - we’re seeing lots of progress with these!
Thank you for all your support,
