Our topic for this half term is ‘Fairytales and Toys’. We’ve already started exploring our new role play area in the classroom – it’s a fairytale castle!
We're enjoying reading a number of different fairytales and exploring all the different characters in the stories, and we're looking forward to finding out about toys - old toys and new toys, puppets and teddy bears. We’re even going to go on a teddy bears' picnic!
Don’t forget that our home-school books can also be used as scrap books to record any special moments, events, trips, discoveries etc which your child would like to share with us.
Reading books will continue to be sent home each week. Please keep reading with your child – it really beneficial. Remember, too, to keep reading the high frequency words - we’re seeing lots of progress with these!
STAY AND PLAY
We will be organising a stay and play morning this half term and would love for a family member to come and spend an hour in class to see what fun activities we do in Reception. Keep your eye out for a letter in your child’s book bag soon.
