This half term started with a fantastic ELFS (Early Learning For Safety) workshop. Staff from Manchester Children’s Hospital came in and talked to the children and adults about how to stay safe at home. Elfie was there to help us learn how to look after ourselves and to remember what we need to do when we’re hurt or in danger.
We’ve got a lot of exciting things planned for the next few weeks. Our current topic is TOYS - and we're learning everything there is to know about them! We’re looking closely at old and new toys, making puppets, going on a teddy bears' picnic, designing outfits for our dolls and action figures and racing our remote control cars.
We’ll also have our class assembly at the end of this half term, so put Wednesday 24th May into your dairy – you won’t want to miss it!
With the weather hopefully getting a bit nicer over the next few weeks, please make sure all children have a sunhat and sun cream (both name-labelled) in their bags for the hot and sunny days. Our playground can be a bit of a suntrap, so let’s make sure our children are protected from the heat.
Don’t forget that our home-school books can also be used as scrap books to record any special moments, events, trips or discoveries that your child would like to share with us.
Reading books are sent home each week. Please keep reading with your child on a daily basis – it is really beneficial. Also, don’t forget to keep reading the high frequency words - we’re seeing lots of progress with these!
Thank you for your continued support,
